Beware of scams used by some leaflet delivery companies!

Some unethical leaflet distribution companies use a variety of scams to con clients. These are some of the most recent ones I have heard of:

  • Ordering leafleters to deliver to houses that have "No junk mail" signs! This is not only a complete waste of time, but deeply unpopular with leafleters who can suffer verbal abuse, such as "Can't you read?". The clients whose leaflets were pushed through are also likely to receive angry phone calls!
  • Stating that the leafleters having video cameras attached to them to record the delivery is a guarantee. On closer inspection of the guarantee, an example is given that if 10,000 leaflets were supposed to go out and the client watches the video and only 9,500 went out, the 500 will be refunded. There is just 1 problem with this and it is a huge one, certainly in terms of time. It would be around 60 hours of video! No one will ever watch it which I would imagine is precisely why that guarantee was created!
  • Boasting that leafleters have gps devices on them, but not realising that some of them can just literally walk the route without delivering anything! A quick look at the gps records shows that they went along all the streets, so everything must be fine...!
Here at www.leaflets.tv , we definitely do not engage in any underhand activity and when we say the delivery is guaranteed to be carried out properly, we mean it! With daily experience dating back to 2004, we are aware of what to do and also what not to do. Very few UK leaflet distribution companies have lasted 12 years.

The worst mistakes made by businesses choosing a leaflet distribution company!

Do not consider a leafleting firm until you have listened to this for 3 minutes! CLICK HERE - Leaflet Distribution AUDIO 3 minutes explanation CLICK HERE

Is price the most important thing in selecting a leafleting firm?

There is a false perception amongst businesses new to using leafleting that all leafleting firms are the same, so logically they should just choose the cheapest. This is a million miles from the reality. I have lost count of the number of times I have heard of complaints of leaflets being dumped by cowboy leafleting firms. Many of the prices they quote are too low to allow them to do the job properly, so they dump large numbers of leaflets. Also, many of them are too incompetent to check the deliveries, despite saying that they do. Reliability is the main thing, not the apparent price per 1,000 leaflets.

What about putting leaflets in local papers?

With very few exceptions, this generates dismal results, as there are simply far too many leaflets placed in the paper. The whole handful go in the bin without being looked at and this is if someone has actually bothered to turn to the specific page where the leaflets are. The price per 1,000 looks very cheap for papers, but the price per 1,000 enquiries you will get will be pretty rotten.

Are national leafleting firms any good?

No. They just subcontract work to firms like us, taking a big slice of your money. Also, from a long distance away they are unable to check that the delivery has been done properly. If, for a delivery of 10,000 leaflets, they ask for 50 signatures from householders as proof, it is a joke in terms of really being sure the 10,000 leaflets reached letterboxes. Leafleting will always be a low tech activity and cannot be monitored via email or post from hundreds of miles away. It needs local people on the ground checking it.

Why is our leafleting firm better?

Each of our branches is a franchise, so that proven, tested systems are utilised for screening potential leafleters, interviewing them and checking deliveries. The local branches ensure that each franchise is actively controlling the deliveries at a local level.

Also, each branch operates a cleaning business and gets around 90% of their clients from leafleting, so they are unlikely to dump their own leaflets! Each franchisee is highly motivated to make sure that their own cleaning leaflets are properly delivered and your leaflets can be added on to their distribution.

We only do a maximum of 2 other leaflets plus yours in order to give the best response. Any more leaflets than this means the whole lot goes straight in the bin.

If you want to take a risk with your money, feel free to use a dirt cheap competitor or a subcontracting national leafleting firm, but if you’d prefer it done properly and to actually get calls from new clients, give us a call.

Our local franchisees look forward to hearing from you.

Sitting on the beach, feeding chips to seagulls!

This afternoon, while the good people of the world were ensconsed in their offices, I went for a drive along the coastal road from Brighton, gazing out at the panoramic vista of the sea. Passing a fish and chips shop, I decided to have lunch on the beach which was right next to it. The seagulls were not slow to react and as I had a big portion and their aerial acrobatics in catching thrown chips are amusing to watch, we shared the meal. Of course, it was a business-related trip, as I was placing a few adverts for cleaners and leaflet delivery staff in local newsagents! Sitting there, whilst earning what the wider world would consider to be a very good salary from a management business in cleaning and leafleting while working from home, I thought that things are not too bad!

Of course, as my own boss, I can go back there anytime I want.

Email me if you are interested in me showing you how to do the same in a low-cost, home-based franchise business with flexible hours!
